In this great and laborious undertakingMr. Taber was a leading spirit, and to him more than toany other person are the people of Queens county in-debted for its successful accomplishment. He waspresident of the society three consecutive terms, andduring those years, by his energy, good judgment andgenerosity, converted a doubtful experiment into a per-manent success, and established the society on so firm abasis that it has ever since gone prosperously was also greatly interested in the State agricultural. la ^ W-.^^^^^2_ : ci^. !
