On 15 April, 2022, Maj. Gen. Maria B. Barrett (left), NETCOM Commanding General pinned the Purple Heart Medal on Staff Sgt. Charles Gipson (right), NETCOM G1 Operations and Command Programs NCO. Gipson received the medal for wounds he received in action during an Iranian missile attack while forward deployed to Al-Asad Air Base, Iraq in January of 2020
