A Chalcidian helmet with cheek pieces, 5th/4th century Bronze. Gently offset calotte and a contoured brow gable. Small ear cutouts. Incomplete neck guard. Curved cheek pieces on decorated hinge plates. On the calotte three pairs of rivet pins for attachment of a crest holder. Several piercings above the right cheek piece. Remnants of sheet bronze under a rivet on the right side. Height circa 26 cm (including cheek guards), weight 898 g. Green to blue-green patina with soil occlusions.
