A black swan frantically tries to save her nest and eggs as the river water rises following torrential rains. Black swans, Cygnus atratus, are native to Austrailia but numbers of then were introduced to Dawlish, near Exeter, over 40 years ago. This female escaped and has been living on the river in central Exeter for about a year. Devon River Exe, Exeter quayside, Devon, England.
