A ritual sword, South India, 19th century. A long single edged blade with a sharp bend in the middle and fullers on both sides, and with silver floral inlay and riveted mountings. The conical hand guard, inlaid en suite has a brass-reinforced rim and is lined with cloth. The disk shaped, silver-inlaid pommel bears a short spike. Leather covered, slit wooden scabbard.
