Before the introduction of electric traction into Hong Kong,the popular ricksha drawn by a Chinese coolie was the prin-cipal means of locomotion, and of these nearly 2000 werelicensed for hire, in addition to a large number owned rather slow, the ricksha is hard to beat for generalconvenience; the fight for supremacy between the out-of-date CAR STORAGE HOUSES VS. Fiftynew large cars have been ordered and are being are being made to enlarge some of the power stations toincrease the power facilities.
