The Central section of then former Club Med Hotel has already collapsed and the sides of the building now start to go. Dust and smoke start to rise over the central section. This is the third of a sequence of shots recording the implosion and collaps of the giant building. It was the first building ever to be imploded in Bermuda. The photo was taken from an observation point on St Davids Road, St Davids Island, St George's Parish, Bermuda, looking out across St George's Harbour towards Fort St Catherine. The Club Med Hotel has stood derelict for 20 hilltop hotel with stunning views of the surrounding area, was originally opened as a Holiday Inn, but that venture failed as did later attemps to make it work by Loews and Club Med. The 688-bed hotel was badly damaged by Hurricane Emily in 1987 and closed as a Club Med facitlty in 1988. A 1000ft exclusion zone was created around the site before the building was safely demolished
