cardiff bay from penarth waterfront reclaimed south wales uk gb

Cardiff Bay (Welsh: Bae Caerdydd) is a commericalised southern area of Cardiff, Wales which lies on a 500 acre freshwater lake. It is the regeneration area created by the Cardiff Barrage which impounds two rivers (Taff and Ely) to form round the former dockland area south of the city centre. The bay was formerly tidal, with access to the sea limited to a couple of hours each side of high water.
