The Nivolet Lake lies in the Pian del Nivolet a wonderful plateau at more than 2500 m 8200 ft right at the center of the Gran Paradiso National Park the largest wild area of Italy placed in the Western Alps on the border between Piedmont and Italy This picture was taken on a very early morning of August about 30 minutes before sunrise The very long exposure has nicely blurred the water of the lake giving to it a beautiful silky road and has produced a noticeable movement in the clouds The peak in the far background is the Grivola one of the tallest peak of the Gran Paradiso range
