The cones are 7—9 cm. long and 2—3 cm. in diameter, characterised by woody scales with sub-hexagonal apophyses with a central umbo and a rounded upper margin; there are two seeds with long and narrow wings on each scale. In one case (fig. 785) three cones are attached in an erect position to a branch covered with persistent leaf-bases. The foliage-leaves were borne in pairs and reached a length of 10—15 cm.
