Kidbrooke Village, London, United Kingdom. Architect: Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, 2013. Green pedestrian walkway.

Kidbrooke Village is a new flagship regeneration housing project on the site of the old Ferrier Estate in south east London. Dis-investment during the 1980's and persistent poor upkeep led The Ferrier to become one of London's most notorious failed public housing projects. Architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands have worked with the national house building firm Berkley Homes to masterplan the new site, and have created a series of different housing types interconnected by green walkways, parks and open spaces. The architects have been careful to link the development to the surrounding community, drawing inspiration from London garden suburbs such as Hampstead and Welwyn.
