STAMPS LATELY ISSUEDAND RARE VARIETIES. We have very little to notice this,month in the way of novelties. Monte Video.—We have receivedEssays of a new issue. They arelithographed, and much resemble thestamps of the Argentine Republic intheir general appearance, as will be. seen by our engraving. Those wehave seen are 6 centesimos, lake; 8 ; 10 c. ochre; 12 c. blue. Belgium.—The Timbre Poste givesnotice that the present stamps are tobe changed, and designs are wantedfor a new rsue. The authoritiesgive a general outline of what thestamps must be, bo that doubtlessthere will be great similarity betweenall tendered designs. The dies, &c,are to be delivered by the 1st July next, and a prize of £200 will begiven to the successful a fine opportunity for someenterprising engraver, to send over adesign as hideous as possible, andupon its rejection, to turn an honestpenny, or many honest pounds, byselling them as essays !
