Caledonian Railway Conner Class 417 type 2-4-0 steam Locomotive in photographic grey


These locomotives had 6ft 2in drivers, flush boilers, a dome on the second ring of the casing, a conical cover for the safety valves mounted on the firebox and double frames. When rebuilt by Drummond most were fitted with Drummond type boilers and a smaller number with Brittain boilers, a Drummond type chimney, Stirling type cabs with the exception of possibly 475, 478 & 484, closed leading splashers combined with large sand boxes on 419 to 433, 435, 473, 475 to 480, 483 and 484. 334 to 338 were not rebuilt. was built in 1878
