Cylindrical bottle for 'Constantia wine', anonymous, c. 1790 - c. 1800 Green glass bottle with fairly wide and short belly and long neck. The seal is on the bulging of the abdomen just below the beginning of the neck. Constan/ Tia Wyn is in a curve. Constantia Wine was and is a famous wine from the Buitenplaats Constantia (later Groot Constantia) in Cape Town, South Africa. The bottle is dredged on the coast of Ghana.
