As the pore-bearing plates of the petals are rather large, this difference is fairly conspicuous. In the posterior series of the anterior petals and in both series of the posterior petals the number is the same in both species. The odd anterior ambulacrum narrows conspicuously where the fasciole traverses it, which is not the case in flavescens; the number of plates within the fasciole is smaller than in flavescens, specimens of equal size being compared (7 in capense, ca. 10 in flavescens). The tubefeet and their spicules do not present any distinct differences from flavescens; to be sure, I have not seen any such large spicules, as are found in flavescens below the disk, but they are not always met with in the latter species either, and they may well be found in larger specimens of.
