Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) scan. Reconstructed brain white matter fibres of the corpus callosum that connect the two sides of our brain, and the internal capsule, the pathway that is essential for sending our brain impulses to our limbs to control our movements. DTI offers a non-invasive look into how white matter, the highways of our brain, connect distant brain regions. Each fibre shown represent many thousands of actual fibres in the human brain. Colours are coded as; left to right - red, anterior to posterior - green, and superior to inferior - blue.
