Wendover Dean, UK. 14th April, 2024. HS2 are building the 450m long Wendover Dean viaduct (pictured) in Wendover Dean, Buckinghamshire near Great Missenden with 38 steel beams. The half kilometre viaduct will be the first major railway bridge in the UK to be built with a ‘double composite’ structure. The HS2 works have meant the destruction of a large piece of ancient woodland at the nearby Jones Hill Wood. Farmland has also been subject to temporary or compulsory purchase for which some tenancy farmers still haven't received any compensation from HS2. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy Live News
