The supply of roses is good, with tlio exception of American Beauty. Prices have dropped since New Year's. The rcceii)ts of carnations are larger than they have been since the holidays. A great many of the blooms are used in funeral work. The prices have lowered considerably. The supply of eattleyas is good. This also is true of cypripediums, vandas and oncidiums. The local demand for orchids has increased substantially this season. Longiflorum and rubrum lilies are in good sujiply and meet with a good call for funeral work. Valley is on the scarce side. Other offerings are snap- dragons, which are in moderate supply, sweet peas, violets, Paper White nar- cissi, callas and tulips. Various Notes. "\V. .T. A: ^1. S. Vosey are expecting a shipment of 5,000 orchid plants of va- rious species from South America. This shipment will arrive Avithin a few weeks and, with the six houses of orchids now owned by tlie firm, will make this estab- lishment 's collection one of the foremost in the middle western states.
