A bicycle culture prevails throughout the Netherlands. In Rotterdam, as in aall the country's urban areas, bikes and trams dominate. But I sometimes wish the Dutch didn't seem so smug about after all, their flat, flat terrain does help a bit! At least, in Rotterdam, bikers seem bit more polite and accommodating than in Amsterdam, where cyclists bully pedestrians and cars with impunity!
