Hurricane Katrina, New Roads, LA November 28, 2005 - High school geometry teacher Kate Cottrell has adapted to her new FEMA role as the lead in a Disaster Recovery Center. Kate is one of 35 "Teach for America" members hired by FEMA after Hurricane Katrina forced the closings their New Orleans schools.
