In former years Unity Court proved the first winner, beatingSt. Rochus in the race for the 1902 pennant, the other teamsbeing DeSoto, St. Louis and St. Charles. In 1993 two separatedivisions were formed, Washington Court winning in one, , St. Pius, Lawndale, St. Francis and St. Charlesfinishing in the order named. The other divisions also played in 1903, Unity winning, theother teams in the order of finish being DeSoto, Alice, , Corpus Christi, Three Kings, St, Louis and St. Spaldings Chicago Amateur Base Ball Annual. 71 During the winter of 1903-4 the two leagues were again broughtinto harmonious relations and last year saw the Foresters play-ing under the same head, with the result that Washington Courtwon the West Side pennant without a single defeat, whileCorpus Christi took the honors of the South Side. The teamsmet in the finals for the championship of the Catholic Order ofForesters pennant, playing before one of the largest crowds everseen at Hands Park, the Corpus Christi team beating Washing-ton Court by the score of 4 to i in a bitterly fought contest. The teams in last years league were as follows: West andNorth Division—DeSoto, St. Rochus, Washington, St. Louis,St. Dominick, Holy Trinity, St. Pius and St. Francis; SouthDivision—Corpus Christi, Newman, St. Thomas, St. Monica,Alice, Three Kings and St. Lawrence.
