Louis Orth Kelso, Louis Kelso (1913-1991) Political economist, lawyer and merchant banker was the inventor of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 1956 and Consumer Stock Ownership Plan (CSOP) in 1958. Kelso also authored a number of books, The Fallacy of Full Employment, The Capitalist Manifesto, The New Capitalists and Two-Factor Theory: The Economics of Reality.
