There are still thingsthat are best done by competent peoplemaking judgments, and the selecting ofgood management candidates, in all fair-ness to the System and the individual,remains one of those areas which willsuccessfully withstand the push of mech-anization. Costly and time-consuming asit may be, the selection of good manage-ment people justifies the price manytimes Payoff of the program comes during the approximately two-hour session in nhich the candi-dates performance over the two-and-a-half days is reported on (here by tape playback) andevaluated by the staff.
