A Joslyn carbine model 1864, calibre .56-56 Spencer RF, no. 10504. Matching numbers. Bright bore, length 22". Three-stage folding sight up to 500 yd. Marked on the side plate "Joslyn Fire Arms & Co / Stonington Conn / 1864", patent data on rear of lock. Barrel blued matt, lock without finish, spotty, cock and side plate presumably originally colour case hardened with remnants of black varnish. Dark brown walnut stock, on the steel butt plate marked "US". Old repaired stock fracture on a level with the bolt housing. Almost new overall condition. Rare in this qua,
