He was a young man of brilliant natural talents and scholarlytastes; was a graduate of Centre College, Danville, Ky., studied theologyand became a Baptist minister. He was given the pastoral care of achurch in the central part of the state and was greatly beloved by hisparishioners. He was a thoroughly consecrated Christian and d. when about 27 years of age, unm., and was buried at Sulphur SpringsChurch, near Franklin, Ky. 4. Jane-Agness Milliken4 (2), only daughter of James3 (2), was b. in Simpson * Phoebe DeSiia was a sister of Gov. DeSha, of Kentucky, also of Gen. Robert DeShaof Sumner Co., Tenn., who was the maternal grandfather of Mrs. W. O. P. Belmont, onceMrs. William K. Vanderbilt n&e Smith, and she is the mother of Consuelo, Duchess MILL/KENS OF ORANGE CO., NO. CAROLINA. 493 Co., Ky., Oct. 29, 1810; was m. to Jeremiah C. Wilkins in 1830. He wasa lawyer in Bowling Green, Ky. He d. in April, 186S. She d. Oct. 20, this union there were eleven children, of whom four d. in Matthew Milliken4 (1), youngest son of James3 (2), d. in infancy. CHILDREN OP WILLIAM AND POLLY WEST. i. Frances Milliken4 (1), eldest daughter of William3 (2), b. in Logan Co.,Ky., Aug. 3, 1809 ; was the second wife of Jesse Harper, and bore him oneson, W. S. Harper, farmer near Russellville, Ky. She d. Sept. 2, 1841. 2. Dr. Alfred Milliken4
