Walkers along the Djerring Trail, a mixed-use path created by the construction of overhead rail tracks in Melbourne, Australia

Construction of the elevated tracks has opened up new walkways and cycle paths at ground level. Whilst subject to repeated COVID-19 lockdowns during 2020 and 2021, Melbourne residents are officially limited to a fixed period of daily exercise out of home and within a defined radius. These new neighbourhood trails often fill that need.
