Theunder surface of the gall-bladder is covered by theperitoneum which invests the under surface of theliver, and its fundus is covered completely with peri-toneum. The extent to which the gall-bladder isinvested by peritoneum varies, and in some instancesthe greater part of it is covered and the organ isslung to the under surface of the liver by a gall-bladder is supplied by the cystic artery,a branch of the right division of the hepatic artery :the cystic veins open into the portal vein.
