Noto Ancient, medieval castle, prisons

Noto Antica includes the entire area of Mount Alveria on which is located the ancient city of Noto dramatically destroyed in the earthquake of 1693. The archaeological traces dating back to the Lower Paleolithic it is very easy to come across the remains belonging to the most diverse ages distributed over a historical stratification very deep. All this makes this vast area one of the most important archaeological sites of the peninsula. Unfortunately at present, although there are signs of renewed interest, the whole thing is completely abandoned and at the mercy of vandals and grave robbers.
