Sometimesthere was a call for an address at somedistant point to a group of businessmen, by a business man, and was always ready where it wasanyway possible in justice to other dutiesto fill the appointment, no matter atwhat personal inconvenience to himself. His position before the Church, andstanding among men of affairs, have at-tracted many large gifts for some partic-ular need in the field, or for investment,the income only to be used for definite. The securities wouldhave been brought to us, but with hisunfailing courtesy he felt it was due tothe contributor in this particular casethat we should go and receive them. Through his own gifts and the giftsof those whom he influenced, the ReserveDeposits of the Board, to be temporarilyused in that part of the year when con-tributions are few and then replaced. have been increased from $120,000 to$443,000
