Scale measurements of 80 fish of different ages were taken and the lengths for each year were calculated by the above formula. The results are shown in Table 4. The mean lengths of male and female at the end of each year of life were calculated. The mean growth curves are shown in Figure 16. As would be expected, the calculated growth curves are relatively smoother. Both males and females grow approximately at the same rate for the first four years at the end of which period they attain a length of 208 millimeters. After this, the males grow at a relatively lesser rate than the females.
