Mr. Nihart has always been true to the Republicanprinciples, but not an office seeker, and accepted the nomination for Representative ohthe Republican ticket only after the earnest solicitation of his friends, and was electedby a plurality of 1,048, running 300 ahead of the ticket. He is a member of the F. & A. M., I. O. 0. F. and K. of P. In 1898 he wasmarried to Miss Lulu I. Ewan, daughter of A. H. Ewan, of Bryan, 0. (459). MR. ODONNELL, of Putnam County. Owen J. ODonnell, Democrat, Representative from Putnam county, was born inMadison, Indiana, in July, 1866. He received a common school education in Madison,and was entered as an apprentice to a tailor in that city. Completing his trade bemoved to Cincinnati, and in 1888 located in Leipsic, Putnam county. In 1893 he wasmarried to Miss Kate Kihm, and has five children, two boys and three girls. Havingbeen reared a Democrat^ Mr. ODonnell is an earnest advocate of the principles ofthat party. He is an active friend to the cause of organized labor. Mr. ODonnell is a member of the standing committees on Ditches, Drains andWatercourses, Library and Public Ways. (460)
