The Joint Base San Antonio Natural Resource office prepares a feral hog for transportation, Jan. 13, 2021 at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. Feral hogs are considered a harmful and destructive non-native, invasive, species. The increasing population of feral hogs has led to various types of damage to vegetation, soils, ground and surface waters, floodplains, wetlands, and sensitive karst topography, while also posing threats to private property, and human health and safety.
