If the face is not forced down, the head will sometimes comealong in this manner ; in which case the vertex will be flat-tened, and the forehead raised in a conical form; and whenthe head comes down to the lower part of the pelvis, the faceor occiput will be turned from the side, and come out belowthe pubes. But, if the head is large, and cannot be deliveredby the pains, or if the wrong position cannot be altered, thechild must be delivered with the forceps. If they should fail,recourse must be had to embrvulcia.
