River Pinn Long Meadow backwaters scheme on the River Pinn, Pinner Middlesex

London Borough of Hillingdon has received funding from Big Green Fund to create two backwaters on the River Pinn, In the 1930s when the land at Eastcote House was to be developed the River Pinn was straightened and the banks steepened to increase river flow and prevent flooding. In 2014 part of River Pinn's meander was reinstalled and a backwater was created to provide quite areas in which fish can shelter when the current is strong.
