With this the countrymen brushthe plants, and when the whips are suffi-ciently laden with the juice, it is scrapedoff by knives, and made into cakes. Pureladanum consists of resin and volatile oil86, wax 7, aqueous extract 1, and earthymatters and hairs 6 (Guibourt). Pelletierfound 72 per cent, of sand in it.
