John Campbell Brown (born 1947), British astrophysicist. Brown has been Astronomer Royal for Scotland since 1995, and Regius Professor of Astronomy at Glasgow University since 1996. His research group has studied and modelled solar and stellar plasmas. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1984. His awards include the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society (2012). Photographed in 2008, in the Kelvin Building, the University of Glasgow, UK.
