Bellcaire d'Emporda castle.
The castle-palace of Bellcaire, located on the top of the village, is square with a central courtyard and grounds sloping walls parallel to the building with six round towers, one at each corner and two more in the center of the walls N and W respectively. All elements are quite damaged fortifications (towers are the best preserved of the SE and SW corners). The entire west wing is occupied by a building body, possibly higher class, consisting of four arches diaphragm aimed initially supported a coffered ceiling, replaced by a Baroque vaults with lunettes plaster moldings. The castle-palace of Bellcaire is the work of Count Ponç V of Empúries (1277-1313) who lived normally and possibly was buried.
