M. hymns, readings, and prayers, the corner stone was laid by James Lock-hart Autry, Jr., of the Rice Class of 1921, with these words, In the faithof Jesus Christ we place this corner stone in the name of God the Father, Godthe Son and God the Holy Ghost. Amen. Addresses were made by Rev. Harris IMasterson, Mr. C. H. Atkinson, Rice1921, and Rev. Peter Gray Sears. It combines the functions of a mission, Mr. Masterson Mrs. Blake a cafeteria, a canteen, a reading room, a dancefloor, and a general rendezvous for Rice stu-dents. Airs. Eugene Blake is the mother of the supervises the cafeteria phase of the House—is responsible for the enjoyment the studentsderive from the many delicacies it ofifers. Thetown students are enabled to obtain very satisfying luncheons at small cost. The duties of executive head of the establishment, and also of Minister tothe Episcopalian students of the school, devolve upon Reverend Harris Mas-terson. In proving himself quite a capable manager, he has conducted the aflfairsof the Autry House on an efficient basis, and has shown himself to be sin-cerely interested in the well-being of all Rice s
