The railway was developed on this site from 1836. With mixed fortunes and closure the works reopened in 1954 and received a Heritage Lottery Grant in 1998 enabling adaptation to undertake high quality restoration of Ffestiniog Victorian coaches, slate transport wagons and locomotives.
