Carlin, andformerly belonged to Queen Marie-Antoinette,by whom it was given, in 1786, to Mrs. Eden,afterwards Lady Auckland. On top of page 352 is shown a table insatin-wood and purple-wood, with mounts andornaments of gilt bronze, cast and chased, themain feature of the decoration being richdetached festoons of oak leaves and acorns, ofthe style and period of Louis Seize.
