Drill instructors, Receiving Company, Support Battalion, check for contraband during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 15. The drill instructors discard any contraband the recruits may have brought with them. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. These recruits are part of Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, which is scheduled to graduate Aug. 11.
