Sandhill Cranes, Antigone canadensis, in flight with the moon behind in the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico, USA. Since it was not possible to get both the birds and the moon in focus in a single exposure, the in-focus moon was photgraphed separately and recombined in post-processing. This is a representation of the scene rather than a single photo of the actual scene as the birds flew past the moon that evening on their way to roost.
