GULF (Nov. 14, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Charles Sturkey, assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94), performs maintenance on the feeder assembly of a MK 25 machine gun system. Sturkey serves aboard Nitze as a gunner's mate and is responsible for shipboard weapons and weapon's systems. Nitze, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
