The Mill Pond, or Cove, mentioned in the Introduction, oncecovered all the tract embraced within North and South MarginStreets, being divided from the sea on the northwest by theCauseway, now Causeway Street. Before En-dicott Street was laid out, about183G, over a part of what wasknown as the Old Way, Prince Street was the thoroughfareto Charlestown.
