Pony rides on Sideng square in Shaxi, an anceint trading town for caravans once plying the Tea Horse Trail in Jianchuan County, Yunnan province, China. Shaxi is considered one of the most intact caravan towns on the tea route that passed through Yunnan on its way into Burma and Tibet. The town's Sideng market square is of considerable importance, with an intact theater, guesthouses for merchants, a temple precinct, and protective gates. It was recently restored and is now a tourist attraction.
