At the outbreak ofthe war he was admitted to the First Of-ficers Training Camp at Fort Sheridan,being attached to the I 2th Crawford was held over fromthe First Camp and assigned to the I 7thCompany of the Second. Upon receiptof his commission he received orders to gooverseas, and sailed in January, arrival in France was ordered tothe infantry school at Chatillon, afterwhich course of instruction he was as-signed to the school at Gondrecourt,
