The extracts from the Slindon registers (see Appendix) confirmthis supposition. Mr. Jupp here alludes to the marriage of a John Sheere -with JoaneButler that took place at Slindon in 1561: but this is evidently unsa-tisfactory, as Richard Wyatt was himself born in 1554, seven yearsbefore the marriage in question.
