Steven Pinker. Caricature of the Canadian-American experimental psychologist, cognitive scientist, linguist and author Steven Arthur Pinker (born 1954). Pinker is a Harverd University professor and well-known for his advocacy of evolutionary biology and the computational theory of mind. He specialises in visual cognition and psycholinguistics and has argued that that language is an 'instinct' or biological adaptation shaped by natural selection.
