Cottontop Tamarin, Saguinus oedipus, Cebidae, Callitrichinae, Primates. The Cottontop Tamarin, also known as the Pinché Tamarin, is a small New World monkey weighing less than 1lb. It is found in tropical forest edges and secondary forests where it is arboreal and diurnal. Cotton top tamarins are one of three Amazonian species of tamarin and are found in a small area of northwest Colombia in a range bound by the Cauca and Magdalena Rivers and the Atlantic coast. It is considered one of the bare faced tamarins because of the lack of facial hair. Critically endangered species.
