A muzzle-loading air rifle, Lippert in Kulmbach, circa 1750. Heavy octagonal barrel, slightly swamped, with a seven groove rifled bore in 12 mm caliber and remnants of bluing. Dovetailed sights, signed, "*Lippert*Culmbach*" in front of the rear sight. Simulated flintlock with bevelled edges, and a chiselled monster head on the cock. Double set trigger. Lightly carved walnut full stock with dark horn nosecap and smooth brass furniture. Air reservoir in the butt stock. A spring-loaded lid on the butt plate covering the attachment for the air pump.
